Placed at Oscar Freire, one of the most famous streets in Sao Paulo, the gallery welcomes the collective exhibition called “M – from Marilyn to Madonna”, which honors both muses of yesterday and present-day.
There are more than 30 paintings created especially for the exhibition by artists as Lobo, Romero Britto, José Gonçalves, Sami Akl, Milena Barberis, Newton Mesquita and Adriana Bertini.
The artists highlight the exuberance, sensuality, success and transgressor personality – present in both of them, besides the parallel between their careers and contemporary approach of each professional, with new artistic elements and exclusive techniques.
The pieces highlight the main characteristics of Marilyn and Madonna. These two blondes were very controversial. Besides, the exhibition must remember the best moments of their careers.
All the pieces of art in exhibition are on sale and part of the income will be reverted to a NGO called “Banco de Alimentos” (Food Bank), which fights against hunger and food waste.
During the opening cocktail party many celebrities were present, although who has stolen the show was the socialite Val Marchiori who showed up dressed as Marilyn Monroe to get in the mood for the party.
“The idea is bringing a mix of techniques and styles to honor the artist in the month of August, which it is celebrated Marilyn’s 36th death anniversary and Madonna’s birthday”, explained the founder of the exhibition, Andre Ferrari.
